What I’m reading now: 5 by E.E. Cummings – my mother’s annotated copy from college is a dear possession.
Favorite TV show or Movie: Kung Fu Panda – it’s just perfect from beginning to end.
Hometown: Cincinnati OH
Favorite Food: Ravioli – my mother’s family recipe – stuffed with a perfect blend of cheese, pork, and spinach and drenched in “suga” (sauce). Mmmmm. No doubt.
Favorite Building or Architect: Jane Jacobs – actually a journalist/theorist with no formal education who was an important critic of 1960s architecture/planning and may have saved many American neighborhoods from the devastating results of “urban renewal.” Her book Death and Life of Great American Cities crystalized many of my own professional ideologies. Highly recommended read for anyone – still very relevant.
Favorite Vacation: Traveling Europe by myself for two weeks – turns out you’re never really alone on this planet.
Extra-Curricular Activities: Pinball – years in and I’m still not very good. (sigh)
Spirit Animal: Skunk. Seriously.
Fun Fact #1: I’ve been to 47 states and 19 countries.
Fun Fact #2: I read way too much about natural sciences. I must’ve been a scientist in a previous life.
Fun Fact #3: I have a pinball machine in my kitchen
Favorite thing about job or Architecture #1: Working with clients – helping to make their visions become reality. It’s always so exciting.
Favorite thing about job or Architecture #2: Drawing – I really just like to draw
