Working with this remarkable couple has been a true privilege. Despite facing a house fire, raising five young children – including twins – and caring for a daughter with cerebral palsy, they’ve shown unwavering resilience and grace. Their goal was both simple and profound – to create a home that supports their daughter’s needs while accommodating a large, multigenerational household.
After consulting a prominent Cleveland architect, they sought alternative perspectives to fulfill their vision. This led to the conception of a new wing for their home. The primary suite now overlooks a peaceful man-made pond, with a private porch for quiet moments and a hidden elevator for accessibility.
The children’s spaces were preserved, while an accessible bedroom and bathroom were added – featuring a curbless shower and linear drain for caregiver ease, ahead of their time in design. Cove lighting with color therapy further enhances the daughter’s bedroom.
On the main floor, a new garage fits a 7-person van, alongside a mudroom, fitness/therapy room, and an inviting screened porch. Skylights and a curbless NanaWall open the kitchen to the outdoors, while a butler’s pantry improves flow and adds storage – eliminating the need for further kitchen renovations.
